Every day we are confronted with numerous portrayals of Chopin. The Exhibition Chopin. The Power of a Symbol takes us from Chopin – the composer, to “Chopin” – a cultural trademark, used for various applications and interpretations. What is the structure of this sign? When is it a trademark, a symbol and perhaps a commemoration? Which representations are most frequently remixed? We use various objects - from everyday use items to historical artefacts and works of contemporary art – to ask the relevant question – “Where is Chopin?".
